We have all heard the basic rules for travelling and most of us know at least a little, but how should we actually vacation? Of course, you can use your Cancun vacation however you like! 9. Challenge yourself! Think you could never parasail? Think again! Here in Cancun there are many things to do that you may have never thought possible! Parasailing, skydiving, swimming with dolphins! There is so much to do, so be fearless and do something that you never thought you could do! Do something that no one back home will believe you did until you show them the pictures!
10. Learn something native! Cancun is located on ancient Mayan grounds and many of the traditions are still alive today. Ask around for some local one-day classes. Learn to do something that you can take home with you. Learn to make a food that is native to the Yucatan peninsula or learn to dance a traditional Mayan dance! This can be a great way to remember your time in Cancun and to impress those back home!
11. Eat! Eat things that you wouldn’t even dream of eating at home! There are many foods that are native to the Cancun area and that you won’t find anywhere else in the world, so try some! Even if they smell and look different from what you are used to, you may find that you quite like them! And don’t be afraid of street vendors! We have all heard horror stories, but here in Cancun, the food is safe and probably better than most restaurants because it is made using the traditions of the Mayans!
12. Take a compass. Even with all of the modern technology, it is still easy to get lost sometimes, but with a simple compass you can always find your way to a safe place. Cancun was not built like most places in the United States. Cancun is very curvy. Meaning that you can go in circles and never even realize until you end up right back where you started! So take a compass with you and you are sure to get around much faster.
