Air Europa has resumed flights to Cancun today after the influenza flu outbreak, now that all guarantees have been issued from the Mexican government and the World Health Organization (WHO) declared Luis Mata the general sub director of Travelplan also tour operator of the Globalia airline.
The group has decided to undertake once again its operations as soon as possible, trusting that Air Europa will resume flights to Cancun in the next couple of days, until reaching six weekly flights which the airline needs to operate by beginning of July.
Air Europa reduced its operations to the Mexican airport to only one flight a week, and when the outbreak of swine flu was confirmed, all flights were canceled. The last flight was carried out on May 11th. From there on, and until today July 1st, all flights have been cancelled.
“There is no health risk in Cancun, which is a destination highly appreciated by the Spanish community”, Mata said.
An Air Europa flight transferred the Miss Spain competition delegation today to the southern tourism destination in Mexico, where the gala ceremony 2009 is being organized. The beauty contest will celebrate the future Miss Spain in the Gran Oasis Hotel in Cancun, property owned by the group, which will take place in the month of July.
“Traveling to Mexico gives me no fear at all. Right now, it’s one of the safest destinations. The outbreak began there, which means that it’s the place where most safety measures have been carried out” assured Patricia Rodriguez, Miss Spain 2009 who will crown her successor.
